Delivery Inspection Checklist
Effective Date: March 12, 2025
At Circuit Sensors and its affiliated brands, we are committed to ensuring your deliveries arrive on time, complete, and free from damage. However, shipping-related issues may occasionally arise. To help mitigate potential problems, please follow this Delivery Checklist.
Important Exception
Customer pickups are exempt from this delivery policy. Once an order is picked up, the responsibility for the materials and their condition transfers to the customer.
For all other deliveries, the following applies:
Damages and Shortages
- If damage or a shortage occurs, immediately document the issue on the delivery receipt.
- Failure to notate damages on the delivery receipt may prevent Circuit Sensors from filing a claim with the carrier on your behalf.
- By signing the delivery receipt, you acknowledge that you accept the materials in their current condition, including any damages, shortages, or incorrect items.
Recommended Practices for Receiving Shipments
1. Photograph Your Shipment
- Take clear photos of the pallets as they are unloaded from the truck.
- Capture images of any visible damage to packaging or pallets.
2. Inspect the Shipment for Issues
Panels
- Are any panels missing?
- Are any pallet feet damaged?
- Is there any visible damage such as dents and punctures through packaging?
- Unwrap and inspect as many panels as possible for damage.
- Are any corner clips on the pallet missing, broken, or loose?
- Does the pallet look unbalanced?
- Make sure the top and bottom panels are not damaged – are there visible glass shards?
- If damage is found, first note it on the delivery receipt before signing and take photos of each damaged panel with serial numbers.
Rails
- Are any rails missing?
- Are the ends of the rails damaged or bent?
- Is the wrapping and plastic on rails torn?
- If damage is found, note it on the Bill of Lading before signing and take photos.
All Other Pallets/Equipment
- Take out the packing slip and conduct a quick inventory check:
- Is it the correct quantity?
- Are the item numbers matching?
- If you are receiving multiple shipments, cross-reference the tracking numbers from the shipping confirmation email and the products associated with each shipment.
- If receiving an order from Purolator or Loomis that contains multiple packages, note that you may have more than one tracking number.
